Valeria T. Warman, 88, a resident of Swoyersville, passed peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday evening, December 10, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Her beloved husband of 34 years was the late William K. Warman, who passed away on November 27, 1995.
Born on November 10, 1937, in Newport Township, Valeria was one of three children born to the late John M. Dudek and Helen Tafil Dudek.
Raised in Newport Township, Val was a graduate of the former Newport Township High School, Class of 1955.
Prior to her retirement, Val was employed as a seamstress, holding membership with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and working for various garment manufacturers in the Wyoming Valley.
A woman of strong faith, Valeria had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. During her teenage years, she was a proud member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality of Saint Mary Nativity Church, Plymouth.
Valeria’s life was centered around service to others, serving as cheerleading coach for Swoyersville Sailors Mini Football while raising her daughters; volunteering with the lunch program at the former Regis Elementary School, Forty Fort; and, for the past 15 years, actively volunteering with the Foster Grandparent Program.
Renowned for her expertise as a seamstress and tailor, Val altered countless articles of clothing for family members and friends, the uniforms for the cheerleaders of the Swoyersville Sailors, and many teddy bears for the children she cared for through the Foster Grandparent Program.
Val greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was known for her love of shopping. Above all, her greatest love in life was for her family – she was an incredibly supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who celebrated all her loved one’s achievements. Her boundless love and devotion to family will be her lasting legacy and, although her presence will be missed beyond measure, there is joy in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband and all her loved ones who were awaiting her arrival there.
In addition to her parents, John and Helen Dudek, and her husband, William, Valeria was preceded in death by her brother, John M. Dudek Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deborah Kosin, Ashley; Karen Meloy and her husband, Patrick, Redlands, California; and Gail Hostetler and her husband, Kent, Dallas; her niece who was like a daughter to her, Rita Rothman and her husband, Mike, Norristown; her grandchildren, Amanda Boyes, Dr. Lauren Hostetler, Tyler Hostetler, William Meloy, Michael Kosin, Daniel Meloy, Nathan Meloy, Rose Rothman and Sophie Rothman; her great-grandchildren, Noah Serrano and Patrick Meloy; her sister, Carol Kyle and her husband, George, Little Falls, New Jersey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and friends.
