Stella Lubash, 95, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 05, 2013, at Hospice Community Care, Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband was the late Jacob Lubash, who passed away on July 01, 1980.
Born on March 12, 1918, in Swoyersville, Stella was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Klimashefski) Jurewicz.
A homemaker most of her life, Stella tended to the daily needs of her home and family. In her earlier years, she was employed by the former Duplan Silk Mill, Kingston.
Stella was a past member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
A woman of many enjoyments, Stella especially enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Stella also enjoyed cooking and baking and she was known for making kielbasa and meat pies.
In addition to her parents, John and Mary Jurewicz, Stella was preceded in death by her brothers, Benjamin Jurewicz and Joseph Urevitch; her sisters, Josephine Balara, Albina Pretko and Anna Rutkowski; her nephews, Alexander, Edward and Gerald Pretko; Frank Rutkowski; her nieces, Helen Soha, Helen Brushka, Rita Kosenak, Frances Pretko, Dorothy Pretko and Irene Shepanski.
Stella is survived by her nephews, Benjamin, John and Steve Jurewicz; Frank, Ronald and Gerald Balara; Joseph Urevitch; Walter, Raymond and Joseph Pretko; her nieces, Violet Chipego, Ann Marie Jurewicz, Rita Urevitch and Barbara Lucero; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Stella’s great-niece, Diane Broody, and great-nephew, Francis Shepanski, for the unconditional love and support they showed Stella over the years.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, December 09, 2013, at 10:00 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Saint Mary of the Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Monday morning, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, at the funeral home.
