Stanley “Stosh” Mahalek, 66, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John Mahalek and Jean (Tomczak) Mahalek.
Stanley owned and operated Stans Trans, a transmission repair shop, in Wilkes-Barre for many years. Stanley enjoyed anything that had to do with cars. You would regularly see him at car shows and he won several races at Evergreen Raceway. Stanley loved to take long rides on his motorcycle or one of his Hot Rod cars. He had the gift of gab and could talk your ear off for hours about anything. Stanley loved children and adored his grandchildren. We are grateful that he was able to hear the great news that he was going to be a grandfather once again in the Fall of 2020 before his passing.
In addition to his parents, John and Jean Mahalek, Stanley was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Mahalek.
Stanley is survived by his son, John and his wife, Melissa, and their 5 children, Orlando, Florida; his daughter, Jessica Sanchez and her husband, Tim, Long Beach, California; his brother, Joseph Mahalek, New Jersey; his sister, Theresa Brady, Wilkes-Barre; his nieces, Maureen Rodgers and her husband, Christopher, Wilkes-Barre; and Tesha Rushton and her husband, Paul, Mountaintop; his nephews, Patrick Brady, Wilkes-Barre; Zachary Klein, Wilkes-Barre; Justin Klein and his wife, Laura, Elliott City, Maryland; and Darryl Rodgers, Kingston.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held for the immediate family. The Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, will officiate.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
A celebration of Stanley’s life will be scheduled for a future date.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
