Sherrise Lynn Barbetti, 42, a lifelong resident of Dunmore, lost her battle to addiction on Friday evening, December 26, 2025, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born on May 27, 1983, in Scranton, Sherrise was the daughter of the late Paul Hardziewic Sr. and the late Sherri Zangardi Fedele.
A 2001 graduate of Dunmore High School, Sherrise attended fashion school in New York City before returning home to care for her mother. Later, she went on to attend Empire Beauty School, Moosic, where she received her cosmetology certification.
A self-employed hairstylist, Sherrise was known for her flare for fashion and hairstyling, and her genuine appreciation for music. Her great love for animals was evident throughout her life, and she found joy in participating with a pit bull rescue for some years. Kind-hearted, she would, without a doubt, extend her hand or give the shirt off her back to anyone in need – she was just beautiful, inside and out.
The greatest gift God could have ever given Sherrise was her beautiful daughter, Amadora. Her sweet, precious girl was the center of her life…her heart and soul…her everything who brought nothing but boundless joy and love to Sherrise’s life. Now looking down from Heaven upon Amadora, Sherrise will continue to guide her as her most special Angel.
In addition to her parents, Paul Hardziewic Sr. and Sherri Fedele, Sherrise was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Aline Price Zangardi Poonwalla; and her cousin, Michael Zangardi.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael O. Barbetti, and their beloved daughter, Amadora Barbetti; her brother, Paul Hardziewic Jr. and his wife, Melanie, and their children, Nico Hardziewic and Paul John Hardziewic III, all of Archbald; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Donna Barbetti, Scranton; as well as her extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sherrise’s funeral services which will begin with a closed casket visitation on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in Saint Paul’s Parish, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, followed by the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Her Pastor, Monsignor Neil J. Van Loon, V.F., will be the celebrant.
A private burial service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass in Dunmore Cemetery.
