Robert A. ‘Rob’ Anders, 36, a resident of Kingston, passed into eternal life unexpectedly and much too soon, on Wednesday evening, March 05, 2025, at his home as a result of injuries sustained in a fall.
Born on July 15, 1988, in Kingston, Rob was one of two children born to Bruce K. Anders and Kathy Crossin Anders.
Raised in Kingston, Rob was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 2007, where he excelled on the basketball and golf teams. Following high school, he went on to attend Villanova University where, in 2011, he acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He then went on to attend Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, California, where, in 2015, he earned his Juris Doctorate. During that time and for two years after law school, he lived in Pacific Beach, California, before returning to the Wyoming Valley.
Rob was a partner with his father at Anders Law, Plains Township. Professionally, he was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association, the Lackawanna County Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
An enthusiastic supporter of his alma mater, Villanova University, Rob was especially an ardent fan of its basketball team – a passion he shared with his dad as he was also an alumnus of Villanova. Together he and his dad traveled throughout the United States to be courtside for many of Villanova’s basketball games. Rob was also an avid golfer and a member of Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. As with Villanova basketball, he shared his passion for golf with his dad and together they played at numerous golf courses far and wide. Rob particularly loved to golf at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.
Rob had a zest for life and found excitement in seeing the world. He was blessed to travel extensively and he especially cherished the time he spent in Prague, Czech Republic, as a part of a study abroad program while attending Villanova.
Fun-loving, free-spirited, with a contagious smile, Rob poured his heart and soul into every single facet of his life. His family meant the world to him and he would cross Heaven and Earth for them. Rob and his mom were the perfect team. Their love for each other was boundless and unconditional. They spent countless hours together in all types of activities, of the many, cards being their favorite.
Sharing a special bond with each of his loved ones, he and his sister, Kara, shared the most special bond of all – they were the quintessential brother and sister duo.
Rob also cherished his Shih Tzu, Otis, his partner in crime. Together, they were the life of the party.
Preceding Rob in death were his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Julie Anders; his maternal grandparents, Francis and Helen Crossin; and his uncle and namesake, Dr. Robert Crossin.
Left to cherish Rob’s beautiful legacy are his parents, Bruce and Kathy, Kingston; his sister, Kara Anders, Kingston; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, and countless friends.
