Patrick J. Jones, 71, a resident of Dodson Lane, Wilkes-Barre, was reunited with his mother on Mother’s Day morning, Sunday, May 08, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 14, 1951, in Wilkes-Barre, Patrick was one of twelve children born to the late Elmer “Duke” and Florence (Urban) Jones.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Patrick was a graduate of the former E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1969, where he was an outstanding member of the Mohawks football and track and field teams.
Patrick honorably served in The United States Army.
Prior to his retirement, Patrick was employed for 25 years as a security guard at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Patrick had a great love for music throughout his life, especially for the “oldies”. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Proud of being from a large family, Patrick was blessed to share a special bond with all of his loved ones. Above all, he considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be the love he had for his daughters and grandchildren, cherishing every moment he shared with them.
In addition to his parents, Elmer and Florence Jones, Patrick was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Joe, and Tom Jones; his sister, Judy Sapia; his brother-in-law, Dave Davies: and his nephews, Joseph Patrick Jones and Jacob Waltman.
Patrick is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Lindia and her husband, Thomas, Middletown, Delaware; and Carey Kozel and her husband, Kevin, Lake Wylie, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, and Sophia Lindia; Tyler, Dylan, and Katelyn Kozel; his brothers, sisters, and sisters-in-law, Jack (Vivien) Jones, Lake Wallenpaupack; Mrs. Rosina Jones, Washington; Della “Dolly” Davies, Wilkes-Barre; Art (Karen) Jones, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Tricia Jones, Wilkes-Barre; Jim (Sandy) Jones, Wilkes-Barre; Jerry (Shannon) Jones, Wilkes-Barre; Ann Waltman, Wilkes-Barre; Tony (Sue) Jones, Forty Fort; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Patrick’s life will be held at a later date.
