Michael W. “Mike” Romanowski Sr., 77, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, entered into eternal life early Monday morning, February 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
His loving wife, his “princess,” is Carol Hill Romanowski with whom Mike would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on April 24th.
Born on September 08, 1948, in Kingston, Mike was one of the three sons born to the late John C. Romanowski and Wanda Gilsky Romanowski.
Mike was a member of the last graduating class of the former Swoyersville High School in 1966.
Following high school, Mike enlisted with the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for four years during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge on October 12, 1970, he attained the rank of Sergeant.
Prior to his retirement, Mike was employed as a lineman for Asplundh, Forty Fort, and, in his earlier years, was employed as a lineman for Sordoni Construction, Forty Fort.
A man of faith, Mike was a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville and, following its closure, he became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at both parishes. Mike was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 12976, Swoyersville.
Mike was a member of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville, and the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.). He was a past member of the Swoyersville Kiwanis Club and served for some years as a Swoyersville Little League Coach and Umpire.
An avid outdoorsman, Mike greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was also an avid golfer who had the distinction of shooting a hole-in-one.
In addition to his parents, John and Wanda Romanowski, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, John C. “Jack” Romanowski and his wife, Margaret.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol A. Romanowski, and their three sons, Michael W. Romanowski Jr., Mark Romanowski, and Jeff Romanowski; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Ralph Romanowski and his wife, Barbara; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mike’s funeral services which will begin with viewing on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, followed by the celebration of his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. The Reverend Father John J. Chmil, his Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Air Force.
The Romanowski Family entrusted Mike’s funeral arrangements to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
