Warren & Janna Lee DeArment left a message on June 27, 2022:
Dear Janet and Peter--We were surprised and terribly saddened to learn of your mother's death. This past Saturday, June 25, we attempted to telephone her to reminisce about the fiftieth anniversary of Agnes and, of course, your father Joe who piled sandbags with me at the dike until the water overflowed and we ran back to our houses to shut off the electricity and flee! June 16th, our wedding anniversary (65th this year), was also your parents' wedding day, and we celebrated together at local restaurants several times. During the eight years we lived in Wilkes-Barre ('64-'72) your parents were our best friends and most helpful neighbors. And we remember both of you fondly as playmates of our children and well-mannered kids. We had kept in touch with Mary Beth through cards and a visit not long after Joe's death, and we expected to joke and laugh again with her on Saturday. But. . . . She was a kind, funny, caring, helpful person. We will miss her, too. Warren & Janna DeArment
