Mary Ann Soranno, 90, formerly of Ross Street, Dunmore, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life, on Saturday morning, December 07, 2024, at Third Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she had been a guest the past five years and loved by the staff there.
Her beloved husband of 34 years was the late Matthew J. Soranno, who passed away on January 06, 1995.
Born on December 30, 1933, in Dunmore, Mary Ann was one of two daughters born to the late Nicholas Williams and Bernetta Matone Williams.
Residing most of her life in Dunmore, Mary Ann was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1951, and was a devoted homemaker most of her life.
A faithful Catholic, Mary Ann was a longtime member of Saints Anthony and Rocco Parish, Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Dunmore.
Throughout her life, Mary Ann had a love for music; enjoyed crafting projects; looked forward to a good conversation; reading novels and loved accenting her impeccable outfits with beautiful jewelry.
In addition to her parents, Nicholas and Bernetta Williams, and her husband, Matthew, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her only beloved son, Matthew J. Soranno DMD, who passed away on September 23, 2017; her only sister, Rose Wrabel, who passed away on August 04, 2023; as well as her in-laws from the Soranno family.
Mary Ann is survived by her niece, Debra Wrabel Santarsiero and her family; nephew, John Wrabel; as well as her brothers-in-law, the Reverend Father Joseph Soranno and Donato Soranno; sister-in-law, Eileen Soranno; and numerous nieces and nephews from the Soranno family.
To the nurses and staff at both Serenity Care Assisted Living, Kingston, and Third Avenue Health Care Center, Kingston, thank you for the wonderful care you all bestowed upon Mary Ann. To the nurses from Compassionate Care Hospice, thank you for helping make Mary Ann comfortable during her transition to her eternal home.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary Ann’s viewing which will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home, 301 Chestnut Street, Dunmore, where Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith Street, Dunmore, with the Reverend Father David P. Cappelloni, V.F., Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Catherine’s R.C. Cemetery, Moscow.
