Margaret Kaczmarczyk, 93, a former resident of East Pine Street, Mahanoy City, and a longtime resident of the former Little Flower Manor, now Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday morning, Aug. 25, 2020, at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center.
Her beloved husband was the late Vladimir “Larry” Kaczmarczyk, who fell asleep in the Lord on Nov. 22, 1980. Together, Larry and Margaret shared 23 beautiful years of marriage.
Born Nov. 11, 1926, in Trenton, Margaret was one of five children born to the late Stanley and Anna Drigan Bushick.
Margaret was a graduate of Mahanoy Twp. High School, Class of 1945, where she was a member of its chorus.
As a young woman, Margaret loved playing her accordion and was once featured on the Ted Mack Show. Throughout her life, she was always the life of the party and loved playing her accordion and listening to Polkas.
A devoted homemaker most of her life, Margaret also assisted her husband for 23 years with the operation of their family business, the former Kaczmarczyk Beer Distributor, Mahanoy City. In her earlier years, she assisted her family with the operation of the former Bushick Café, Delano.
Margaret enjoyed attending countless civic and social functions with her husband during their years in business, and she was a past member of the Lionettes Club, Mahanoy City.
Margaret was a woman of great faith, and she was a life member of the former St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church, Mahanoy City.
In addition to her parents, Stanley and Anna Bushick, and her husband, Vladimir “Larry” Kaczmarczyk, she was preceded in death by her stepson, John C. “Jack” Kaczmarczyk; her brothers, John Bushick and Eugene Bushick; and her sisters, Loretta Royack, Phyllis Hopkins and Anna Gulden.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Basil S. Kaczmarczyk, Plains Twp.; and Vladimir D. Kaczmarczyk and his wife, Kimberly, Tamaqua; her grandsons, Nicholas, Alex and Christian Kaczmarczyk; step-grandchildren, Karen Roberts; and John Mark Kaczmarczyk; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Friday from Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by an Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 70 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, with the Rev. Paul Wolensky, pastor and family friend, officiating.
Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Mahanoy Twp.
Family and friends are invited to attend Margaret’s viewing which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Parastas will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Paul Wolensky.
The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to the staff at Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center for the years of compassionate care provided to her over many years.
