Jean K. Aritz, 83, a resident of Jenkins Township, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Her beloved husband of 44 years was the late Dominick J. Aritz who passed away on August 17, 2008.

Born on September 21, 1942, in West Wyoming, Jean was the only daughter born to the late Michael Kalla and Jennie (Kobus) Kalla. With both her parents passing away when she was just a child, she was raised by her loving grandmother, the late Victoria Kobus.

Raised in Swoyersville, Jean was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1960.

Prior to her retirement, Jean was employed as a receptionist for the Yonkondy Insurance Agency, Wyoming.

Jean loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed yardwork and being outdoors, and possessed a great love for animals.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Jean will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Jean’s memory are her daughter, Michele Henry (Sheldon), State College; her son, Frank Aritz (Betty Madara), Arizona; her grandchildren, Andrew Henry, Colorado; and Kathryn Henry, South Carolina; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.

Interment was in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Swoyersville.
