James J. Pizano Sr., 91, a resident of Exeter, entered into eternal life on Tuesday morning, June 17, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.

His beloved wife of 60 years was the late Ann Marie R. Ciampi Pizano who passed away on February 02, 2017.

Born on February 17, 1934, in Exeter, James was one of four children born to the late Louis Pizano Sr. and Martha E. Palchanis Pizano.

Raised in Exeter, James was a graduate of the former Exeter High School, Class of 1952.

A United States Army veteran, James honorably served his country for two years during the Korean War. Most notably serving as a medic with the 46^th Surgical Hospital Unit, he was honorably discharged on February 24, 1956, at the rank of Private First Class.

An entrepreneur at heart, James was a partner in the former Friar and Pizano Glass Company, Luzerne. In 1982, he opened the former Pizano Glass Company, Wyoming, operating the business alongside his son’s business, the former National Paint and Supply Company, Wyoming, until his retirement in 2005. Throughout his career, James truly appreciated all of his customers and associates.

A man of great faith, James was a lifelong member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Corpus Christi Parish, Exeter.

Known for his love of flying, James proudly obtained his pilot’s license and owned several planes over the years. One of his favorite pastimes was “hanging out” at the Forty Fort Airport and talking with all the fellow pilots.

James had an unwavering love and devotion for his family, never missing an opportunity to spend time with his loved ones. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart and he reveled in each and every one of their accomplishments. James leaves behind a wonderful legacy which will be forever cherished in the hearts of his beloved family.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, for their outstanding care over the years, as well as the wonderful nurses and staff from Allied Services Hospice Center for their excellent care, and for ensuring James’s final days were full of peace and comfort.

In addition to his parents, Louis and Martha, and his wife, Ann Marie, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Pizano Margle, who passed away on March 24, 1990; his brother, Charles Pizano; and his sister, Joanne Siana.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, James J. Pizano Jr. and his wife, Debra, Wyoming; his daughter, Marlene Wrubel and her husband, James; his grandchildren, Jennifer Pizano; Cheri Snyder; Alicia Harris and her husband, Andre; Tyler Wrubel and his wife, Rachel; Ryan Wrubel; and Brandon Margle and his wife, Ashli; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Snyder, Brayden Snyder, Lane Harris, and Braleigh Margle; his brother, Louis Pizano Jr., Exeter; as well as his nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 9:15 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Corpus Christi Parish, Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter, with Monsignor John J. Sempa, his Pastor, officiating.

Entombment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the family mausoleum in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.

Family and friends are invited to attend James’s viewing which will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday morning from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM. at the funeral home.
