Irene Anne Savage, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Born on July 21, 1929, Irene was the daughter of the late Michael and Monicka Zafia of the Lyndwood section of Hanover Township. She graduated from Hanover High School before marrying her husband of 49 years, John Adam Savage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and 9 brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Lorraine Savage Sokolowski and husband, John, Plains Twp.; Debra Savage, Chestnut Hill, MA; Drs. John Savage and wife, Debra, Brighton, MA; grandchildren, Jan Ashford, Golden, CO; Jared Sokolowski, Plains Twp.; Jaclyn Savage, Plains Twp.; and Scott Savage, Brighton, MA; and great-grandchildren, Jack Sokolowski and Juno Irene Ashford, both of Golden, CO.
Irene’s favorite pastime was visiting Knoebels Amusement Park with her family. She enjoyed the park for decades and continued this tradition as recently as a month ago.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas for their incredibly kind and compassionate care, especially nurse Paula, with whom Irene felt a special and trusting connection.
She will be reunited with her beloved husband in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
