Irene A. Sabol, 92, formerly of Durkee Street, Forty Fort, passed into eternal life on Sunday morning, December 27, 2020, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, where she had recently resided.
Her beloved husband was the late Albert J. Sabol, who passed away on July 08, 1980. Together, Albert and Irene shared over 25 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on February 26, 1928, in Swoyersville, Irene was one of eight children born to the late Thomas and Alexandra (Radzwich) Kivinski.
Raised in Swoyersville, Irene was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1945.
In her earlier years, Irene was employed by the former Fowler, Dick, and Walker Department Store. She then became a stay-at-home mother, lovingly tending to the daily needs of her family. After her children were raised, she went on to work as a sales clerk for the Boston Store, Wilkes-Barre, later Boscov’s Department Store, retiring from there.
A faithful Catholic, Irene was a longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
In addition to her parents, Thomas and Alexandra Kivinski, and her husband, Albert, Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Kivinski and William Kivinski; and her sisters, Edna Nevolas, Genevieve Kachmar, Elizabeth Pace, and Alice Trumbower.
Irene is survived by her four children, Albert Sabol and is wife, Jamie, Collegeville; Richard Sabol and his wife, Donna, Bethlehem; Mary Elicone, Belle Mead, New Jersey; and Michael Sabol and his wife, Susan, Denver, Colorado; her seven grandchildren, Jason and Jill Sabol; Alyssa, Alexandra, and Joseph Elicone; and Nathaniel and Gwen Sabol; her sister, Julia Kivinski, Lake Isabella, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 11:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Those attending the funeral Mass are required to wear a facial covering and observe social distancing.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.
In accordance with Irene’s wishes, the viewing will be private for her immediate family.
