Edward S. Kubasti, 94, a resident of Wyoming and formerly of Dallas, passed into eternal life on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter, where he was a guest the past 10 days.
His loving wife is Elizabeth R. DeRemer Kubasti. Together, Edward and Elizabeth would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on September 9th.
Born on April 03, 1931, in Swoyersville, Edward was one of five children born to the late Joseph Kubasti and Victoria Swircek Kubasti.
A United States Army veteran, Edward began his service at the end of the Korean War and went on to honorably serve his country for two years, attaining the rank of Specialist.
Prior to his retirement, Edward was employed as a loom mechanic for the former El-Kay Weaving Company, Wilkes-Barre, and, in his earlier years, was employed as an automobile mechanic.
A man of faith, Edward and his wife were longtime members of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
Edward loved to travel, and was a skilled mechanic who enjoyed fixing cars as well as building, fixing, and flying radio-controlled model airplanes with the Wyoming Valley RC Flyers during the years he was a member. Above all, his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his loved ones, most especially his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Joseph and Victoria Kubasti, Edward was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Geffert, who passed away on January 06, 2009; his brothers, Richard and Joseph Kubasti; and his sister, Dorothy Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth; his son, David Kubasti, Pittston Township; his grandchildren, Kara, Andrew, Kevin, and Kristen; his great-grandson, Bryce; his brother, Robert Kubasti, Tamaqua; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edward’s funeral service which will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Mausoleum Chapel of Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, 4115 Memorial Highway, Dallas, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
Burial will follow in the Garden of the Cross section of Chapel Lawn Memorial Park.
In keeping with Edward’s wishes, there will be no public viewing.
