Deborah A. “Debby” Harbay, 68, a resident of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on Saturday morning, November 06, 2021, at her home.
Her loving companion of 25 years is David Rosenko, of Wilkes-Barre Township.
Born on May 17, 1953, in Wilkes-Barre, Debby was one of two beloved daughters born to the late Leo F. Harbay and Louise P. Sanfilippo Harbay.
Raised on Orchard Street in South Wilkes-Barre, Debby was a graduate of the former E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1971. Following high school, she went on to further her education at the Wilkes-Barre Area School of Practical Nursing where she received her degree to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Debby began her career in nursing at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where, for many years, she worked as a surgical specialist in the operating room, specializing in urological procedures and surgeries. She then took a brief pause from health care receiving her real estate license and working as a real estate agent for a few years. Returning to health care, Debby went on to establish her own medical billing service, operating her company until her passing.
Strong-willed and vivacious, Debby loved spending time with her family and friends, especially when they were together sharing a good meal, a perfectly made cocktail, and having a lively conversation! Beneath her strong exterior was a heart of gold and she would never hesitate to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need.
Debby was fiercely protective of her family and the love she possessed for them was boundless. Although her presence will be missed beyond words, she leaves behind a legacy of being a loving and devoted companion, daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend.
In addition to her companion, David Rosenko, Debby is survived by her devoted sister, Lee Ann Kashnicki and her husband, Michael, Shavertown; her one and only adoring nephew, Michael Kashnicki, Shavertown; her cherished great-nephew and great-niece, Michael and Ana Kashnicki; as well as generations of cousins from the Harbay, Sanfilippo, and Calore families; and many dear friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in Debby’s honor which will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A private graveside service for the immediate family will take place on Saturday in Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pringle, where Debby will be laid to rest with her parents.
