Clare H. Leckie, 78, a resident of Mountain Top, and formerly of Trenton, New Jersey, passed into eternal life on Sunday morning, June 13, 2021, at her home.
Her loving husband is Richard T. Leckie Sr. Together, Richard and Clare celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
Born on September 24, 1942, in Trenton, New Jersey, Clare was one of four children born to the late Andrew Harcar Sr. and Helen Sudol Harcar.
Raised in Trenton, New Jersey, Clare was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Trenton, New Jersey.
While residing in New Jersey, Clare worked as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Company; as a cook for her parish priest at Immaculate Conception Church in Trenton, New Jersey; and was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and children. Clare and Richard relocated to Mountain Top in 1993 when Richard’s job moved to our area and had resided here ever since.
Clare enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones; spending time with her loving husband; and above all, savoring every moment she shared with her beloved grandchildren and sharing her love for movies with them.
In addition to her parents, Andrew and Helen Harcar, Clare was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Harcar Jr.; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Anna Leckie.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Clare is survived by her three children, Ann Marie Allen and her husband, Tony, West Pittston; Debi Leckie and her companion, Emory Neal, Bordentown, New Jersey; and Richard Leckie Jr., Mercerville, New Jersey; her three grandchildren, Brooke Allen, Michael Miller, and Jessica Leckie; her brothers, John Harcar and his wife, Deborah, North Carolina; and Robert Harcar, Hamilton, New Jersey; as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 1:15 PM in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, with Monsignor John J. Sempa, Pastor, officiating.
