Barbara Ann Shampack, 72, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Her loving husband is Joseph J. Shampack. Together, Joe and Barbara celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 3rd.Born on July 12, 1942, in Exeter, Barbara was the daughter of the late Alphonso Pace Sr. and Anna (Senetzsky) Pace.Raised in Wyoming, Barbara was a graduate of the former Wyoming High School, Class of 1962. Following high school, Barbara went on to attend Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre, where she received her certification as a Licensed Cosmetology Manager.Prior to her illness, Barbara was employed as a bookkeeper for Albert B. Melone Company, Pittston. In her earlier years, she was employed as a manager for Holiday Hair Fashions, at their former West Pittston location, and also as a bookkeeper for Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.A woman of great faith, Barbara was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.Barbara had a great love and devotion for her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she reveled in each of their accomplishments. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s baseball games, hockey matches and cheerleading competitions. Although her beautiful presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.In addition to her parents, Alphonso and Anna Pace, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Pace; her sister, Catherine Pace; and her niece, Christine Pace.In addition to her husband, Joseph, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Donna Shampack and her companion, Joseph Sholtis, Swoyersville; and Michele DeNardi and her husband, Elio, Harding; her five grandchildren, Juliana DeNardi, David Casterline Jr., Michael DeNardi, Antonio DeNardi and Tyler Casterline; her brother, Alphonso Pace Jr. and his wife, Lynn, Wyoming; her sister, Marion Delconte and her husband, James, Exeter; her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 10:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J.
