Services: A private family funeral with a Blessing Service for Irene will be held at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Wyoming.

Visitation: There will be no public calling hours.

Irene Serbin, of West Wyoming, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, March 8, 2010 at ManorCare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she had been a guest for the past two years.

Born in Plains, Irene was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alexandria Slivoski Kobowski. Irene was raised in Plains and attended Plains schools.

Irene was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming.

A family oriented woman, Irene adored each member of her family and always enjoyed the time she spent with them. Irene was very close with her granddaughter, Nadia and always enjoyed the quality time they spent together.

Irene loved to Polka and would often visit the Mayfair Supper Club to go polka dancing.

A kind and caring person, Irene was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Irene will forever be remembered by all her generous and loving attributes, and will be deeply missed by every person whose life she touched.

In addition to her parents, Thomas and Alexandria, Irene was also preceded in death by her brothers, Alex Kobowski and Thomas Kobowski; her sisters, Frances Mazzatosta, Helen Kobowski and Martha Howells.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Denise Marinangeli, of West Wyoming; her son, Thomas Serbin and his wife Betty, of Dallas; her grandchildren, Nadia Marinangeli, Kim Quinn and Tommy Serbin, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Sadie Quinn, Regan Quinn, Kaylee Serbin, and Landon Serbin; her brother, Henry Kobowski, of Plains; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral with a Blessing Service for Irene will be held at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
