CREMATION

The Dignity of Cremation.

Choosing cremation as a form of final disposition gives families options for both traditional funeral services, as well as, contemporary funeral services. Below we answer a few common questions about cremation:

What is cremation?

Cremation is the process of using intense heat to reduce human remains to their original elements. Depending on the type of funeral service selected, the body is either encased in a casket or cremation container for the cremation process. Following cremation, the cremated remains are traditionally placed in a container called an urn for final disposition.

Can I have a traditional
funeral service?

Yes, you can have a traditional funeral service with cremation. Cremation, like a traditional burial or above-ground entombment, is just another form of final disposition. With cremation, you still have the same options of a traditional funeral, such as having a viewing, funeral service, or burial of the cremated remains. Also, you can choose cremation followed by a memorial service or social gathering. We can assist you in arranging the funeral service to be as formal or informal as you like. Remember, we are here to help you in personalizing the funeral.

What are other options
for final disposition?

Burial, above-ground entombment, permanent possession, or scattering of the cremated remains are some other options. We will be glad to explain each option in detail.
